Mission:The Mission of the Knights of Columbus is to serve the Church and the community in many areas.
Meetings: The Knights of Columbus meet every third Tuesday of each month in the Dominican Hall.
About and History: The Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest lay Catholic, Family, fraternal service organization. The organization was founded on March 29, 1882 in New Haven, Connecticut by Father Michael J McGivney at St. Mary’s Parish. The organization has grown to over 1,700,000 members worldwide. There are Knights of Columbus Councils in the United States, Canada, the Philippines, Mexico, Panama, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Bahamas, Cuba, Virgin Islands, Guam, Saipan and Poland.
The Knights of Columbus serve the communities in many ways. They have donated $1.3 million to the Hero fund which granted $3000 to the families of each of the firefighters, law enforcement, and emergency service personnel who lost their lives in the terrorist attack on the world trade center. This aid was hand-delivered immediately just days after the tragedy.
The main principles of the Knights of Columbus are charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism The Knights are a grassroots organization and consists of more than 1400 councils worldwide.St. Anne’s Council #8790 serves St. Anne’s Parish and the Lodi community. There are 150 members in the council. We are proud to wear yellow name badges to show our membership in the Knights of Columbus. Father Brandon Ware and Father Joseph Nguyen are members of the council. Deacons Don, Porfi Cisneros and Karl Welsbacher are also members.
